Ok so i've had my dvx 100 for a year now, and have been taking very good care of it and it works great, the camera reads 43 hours.
Yes i know,,, not that much for having this cam for a year but my movie went over budget ok. ( sh t happens)
So my question is, should I send it in for a warranty cleaning?
or as a rule of thumb, (if its not brocken, don't fix it.)
does that apply to this?
or should I just wate till it really needs it, and not chance it coming back worse then when I sent it out. You know what I mean. I hear things.....

I have the two year pro video warranty.

Any info on this matter........

THANKS
DESMAN..............

If it's not dirty, don't clean it.

I keep my cams clean and protected and so have never had the need to get them professionally cleaned. Why are you worried about cleaning? Are they dirty inside: lens, tape mechanism? The cam is still like new, no?

what is this warranty cleaning exactly?

Michael,, the warranty is a 3 year pro cleaning I got extra with the cam, this means that I can take it to an authorized dealer to have it cleaned or have it fixed and so on. (For free) meaning that I payed for it whan I got the cam.
It is through www.mackcam.com

Thanks for clearing that up. I have a Mack Warranty too. I guess I should read through the details a little more closely.

I have read some rather disturbing things about the mack warranty relating to the time it takes to clean or have any kind of servicing for the cam. Some people have been saying that it takes anywhere from 6 to 10weeks to get their camera back. I would lose more money than the warranty covers in damage if I were to lose my camera for 10 weeks. No thanks for me.
