We need to shoot continuously 2-3 frames per second, at the best possible resolution. We also need to continuously download the frames to a pc and synchronize the frame timing with the pc clock. What would be the best solution to do the above?

a digital camera?
I know canon has software that takes pics from their cameras (connected thru FireWire). I gues they're not the only ones.
