Hi folks,

Just tried this software to convert my AVCCAM files from my HMC150 to a format that wont crash Vegas and the software refuses to recognise the files :S

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,

Hi Rikki

I was told that you have to keep the folder system that is created on the SD card intact otherwise the Transcoder will not recognised an AVCHD file. I tried adding just an MTS file and it refused to accept it.

Try copying the complete folder structure and it is supposed to work!!!

Just for interest what are you planning to transcode to???? I'm running Vegas 7e and at the moment I'm using Upshift to transcode from MTS to M2t and Vegas accepts the file with no issues. However preview is pitifully slow as my DuoCore 2.2GHz has only 1GB ram!!!

Hi Rikki

Just an update!!! You are 100% right...if you copy an MTS file onto your drive MainConcept imports it and then "grey's out" !!!!!!!!!

However I can confirm that if you read the files from the SD card it works perfectly. That makes me happy cos it's an easy way to get an SD file to edit without taxing one's computer resources!!! With wedding video everyone here seems to have a huge HDTV but a standard DVD player!!! I have been converting the MTS files to M2t with Upshift and then using them in Sony Vegas ...editing and then rendering out to a PAL WIDESCREEN MPEG2 ready for DVD!! The computer struggles with the M2t format especially in preview!!!

With MainConcept Version 2.1 I can convert directly to a DV-AVI file which is way quicker than the HD conversion. I made two MPEG2 DVD compliant files, one from the AVI file and one from the M2t file and even on a big screen you cannot tell the difference in PQ!!!!
