Well at NAB my Wife and I were able to wander around and when we were looking at Avids show, it looked sharper than Premiers. Avid was showing the movies and commercials that used their editing system and Premier was using the car promo that used their system. Avids looked so sharp and Adobies looked like jpeg artifactish ( I know thats not a word but thats what it looked like )
Any way Premier was on a projector and Avids was on plasma looking screens, is that the difference? Or was the Premier footage they used lo rez? Or do they both put out full rez and I am just seeing things? Any way I am trying to upgrade to Premier Pro and just trying to tell myself that it is just as capable of the output that Avid does. Any thoughts. TL

Are you using DV? Final output resolution should be the same between both programs.

I own Avid XpressDv, and I'm pretty sure what you are seeing is a diffence in the delivery systems.... plasma vs. projector. Don't get me wrong, I think Avid has a superior product and codec, but the description you give leads me to belive its just a presentational difference.

Yeah it's delivery..

Avid does nle.... broadcast

They have to look best at nab... Their stock is way up this year in part because so many stations are going nle... Newscutter is at the top.. and they still keep the same pro skin..

They smell the money, always have.
