Hey guys.

Linked is my first greenscreen attempt. Shot on my XHa1 @ 24f and key pulled in Motion(latest version).

Looking for any pointers or critiques. I see that I need to mask off the watch face in the 1st shot, but would like to hear any other advice you may have regarding the rest of the footage.

You forgot to key out the green. ;-)

Just kidding, but it did make me think you chose green for the backdrop to hide the key edges. Overall, it looks pretty good.

Actually keyed against blue screen. Was working in a confined space so separation was a bit of an issue.

Thanks for commenting.

Yeah...kind of an odd choice of color, IMHO.

I would have used softer light on the subject.

And there's an issue with shadows when his feet get close to the ground...you can see it at about the 7 second mark.

Other than that, the keying is really good...especially on the closeups. :)

do you want critique only on the green screen? or on other stuff too?

Kenzie,

Hit me with all of it.

You know, I rather like the green with shades, and the big text. Most of the criticisms of the material don't really count because he makes it clear they want the real you. So by association, we're seeing the real 'him'. So the iffy clothes and body language which perhaps in a business presentation you would have worked on, don't really apply.

The reflection at the bottom was nicely done, and apart from the watch and quick shadow appearance, I think it's fine.

the lack of audio at the beginning really bothered me the first time I watched it. I thought my speakers were off. His mouth is moving like he is saying something at the very beginning when he is throwing his hand up, but there is no audio at all untill he says "do you know..."

Also, are you planning to finish it out with audio/music in the background at all?
I think that would really help bring it all together. Might even help with the first 2 seconds audio thing I mentioned.
Maybe even muted/low volume music, but something in there.

Overall I like it, you did a great job.
I work with student ministry stuff a lot with our church also and I can totally see/understand the direction you are going. I like the green color and text, the students will connect with it.
