Looking to get a cheaper 4x4 matte box for the dvx100, for use with the stock lens, .6x wide angle century adapter, and with the 1.6 tele extender. Need at least 1 filter tray, and I think hard shell is necessary (don't need a rods system or bellows). Anyone have any recommendations? I know "cheap" and "matte box" aren't really friends, but I'd appreciate any pointers.

I talked to Century at length about this. About the ONLY mattebox that won't vignette with the .6 adapter installed is the Birns & Sawyer MB2000 or whatever it's called. Not even Century's own mattebox will work with the .6 at its widest setting.

Hmm. . . and I suppose that B&S costs like a million dollars? Maybe I should just try to get screw on filters in several different sizes. . .that's what I wanted the box for mainly, anyway.

Can't use screw-in filters with the .6 or the telephoto either...

They don't make 'em in that diameter? Jeez. . .you just can't win.

Hey are you sure about that model number for the birns and sawyer matte box? MB2000? I did a search and didn't come up with any matches. Are you absolutely sure that it's the only one that'll work with the cenutry .6x adapter on the DVX100? If anyone can point me to a link or website where it can be bought, I'd appreciate it.

It's Image 2000.

The guy at Century told me that that's the only one he knows of that a) fits the .6x and b) doesn't vignette.

Alright, excellent! Thanks. Does it work with the 1.6 tele extender too?

Doesn't seem likely, as the 1.6 has a 105mm outside diameter, vs. the 95mm of the .6...
