WOW! Just watched this movie for the first time and its one fine film. I've known of the film since I was a kid and always just passed it off as a B type Omen movie not knowing Polanski directed it all until I picked it up the box at the mega chain rental the other day. This is gonna have to go on my faves list for sure despite all the controversy of the director. Classic for sure especially the psychedelic ritual scene!

I still catch myself trying to lean around the door when they have the shot of the older woman on the phone in the bedroom!
Creepy movie.

You and everyone else at the test screening, apparently!

I love that film. Great era of filmmaking. Lots to be learned from that stuff.

Polanski introduced a new directing style first time in a large production US movie. While other directors gave the talent a lot of leeway, he demanded precise acting and spent a lot of time with the actors coaching them. That contrasts with e.g. Spielberg who lets talent be 100% on their own.

As a side note, I recently saw 'The Kid Stays in the Picture' about legendary producer Robert Evans.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend it. There are some great behind the scenes stories in there about Rosemary's Baby.

Very entertaining and enlightening documentary.

Matt,

Just to make sure I didn't give you the wrong impression.
The documentary covers Robert Evans career, which included Rosemary's Baby.
So there is a little section in there about that movie, but the whole thing is not devoted to it.

It's definitely worth watching. He produced some of the biggest movies of his time: Rosemary's baby, Chinatown, Godfather, Love Story, etc.

Anyhow, just didn't want you to expect an entire Rosemary's Baby documentary,

-Luis
