I use a canon gl1 a lot at school.

When doing format conversions what is better.

Using a DVC PRO deck with a mini adapter (kinda like the old VHS-C) or using a simple mini player?

The reason I am leaning towards the PRO is I have a set of Oscops on the video lines so I can prebalance really well with it.

I kinda fear using the mini adapter, I can just see it getting caught on one of the rollers right now.

I've used those mini adapters quite a bit, and have never had a problem with one.

I'm assuming that you're talking about making VHS dubs, or something like that...

If your audio and video connection types coming out of the decks are the same, then it shouldn't make a difference which deck you use. If you feel more comfortable using the DVCPro deck, don't let the adapter stop you.

Actually it's for broadcast.

Since I can't get my hands on a DVC PRO camera all the time I do a lot of stuff on mini. When I go on the air it doesnt seem to make much difference, but some people have told me they can tell when they are watching mini dv.
