View Full Version : Manfrotto - Difference btw 525MVB and 520MVB ?

Hello,

as I'm considering buying either a:

- manfrotto 501,525PKIT (501 head, with 525 MVB tripod)
~ 550€ in France.

- or a Vinten Pro-5DP (a clone to the manfrotto 501,520 PKIT,
with 520MVB tripod. Still findable in France, and less
expensive than 501,525PKIT).
~ 480€ in France.

I wonder what's the change between the 520MVB,
and the 525MVB tripods, which are the main difference
between my two options.

==> Does someone know if the 525MVB is really better,
or if I don't lose much by taking the less expensive Pro-5DP
with 520MVB clone ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

best regards,

I got the 525 legs just as they came out.
The only difference between the two, as far as I know, is the leg locking mechanism. On the 520 legs, it’s a twist mechanism, but on the 525 legs, it’s a catch.

As far as I’m aware, this is the only difference between them.
