Is it worth Trading my GL2 for a Xl1? Let me know!
I really Love my GL2, but woudl love an XL1, But I wonder if I should just wait and get a new XL2?

What do you mean, Im confused? Just looking for anyones oppinion if I should trade my GL2 for a XL1.

Define "worth". How are you measuring it?

Worth = Is the picture quality better or wors than the gl2. Does it have Fraeme mode? I just like the XL b/c its bigger and you can mount it on your shoulder. And there are more accessories for it. ANy bad things about getting a used XL1

About the same. GL2 is a little sharper and perhaps a bit more neutral by default.

Yes, an XL1 features "frame mode".

Ah, now we're getting to the real issue, eh? It looks cooler! <g> An XL1 really does not rest on your shoulder like a professional camera; it rests primarily on your right arm, and sometimes heavily.

And there are more accessories for it.
These are mainly lenses and the FU-1000 b&w viewfinder.

Kevin, I really don't mean to be provocative but you have not answered my question. That is, -why- do you want the XL1? What do you shoot that cannot be shot just as well with the GL2? Your response suggested that this may be a bit impulsive.

Don't misinterpret me. I have an XL1s myself. It's a wonderful camera. But for casual shooting and glorified home movies (which, let's face it, represents the mainstream) the GL2 is a better choice due to it's size and weight.

I would stay with the GL2. I use mine for weddings, concerts, even my home movies. We are even in the planning stage for an MTV style music video utilizing three GL2's. It is just a well rounded camera. You just can't change lenses on it.
