I recently shot some footage for an educational series video for a not for profit firm. This was my first time doing anything of this nature as I normally do wedding videography.
My question is, do I or does my client need to have the persons in the video sign a release and if so whose responsibilty is it to keep these on file?

TIA

Paul,
Do the initials CYA mean anything? It would certainly be in your best interest to get releases from any of the identified, major players in you footage. I would keep the original, and forward a copy to the organization you are working for.

You absolutely, positively MUST get releases. And you should keep a copy, since YOU will be named if there is ever a law suit for misappropriation of likeness.
