I have not gotten an editing program, yet, but would like to at least transfer some MiniDV recordings to DVD in the meantime. Excuse my ignorance, but can I just connect my DVC30 to my PC via FireWire and copy the video via something like MovieMaker or Roxio DVD creator and burn it to a DVD? Can I copy from my camera using MovieMaker?

Also, any particular FireWire cables that are better than others? What about the kind that are sold at, say, BestBuy, etc?
