I spent all night making this clip for you guys.

There was speculation that the BBC series, The Office may have been shot on a VX2000, as it was a low budget show. Other's countered, that, while it was low budget, it was commissioned by the BBC, so the production was using BBC equipment, which would be more ENG standard.

What is known is that they shot in video and then put it through a film 'degrading' with color timing to get the look the show has. It's a great look (and starting from the video look that you or I get).

Can anyone ID the camera? I have a suspicion about what it is, but someone else here may know better.

does this mean they tranferred it to film and then back?.
WOuld make sense why it looks so good, and why it moves like film. THis is done in 28 days later, so even if it doesnt look as good from a color definition POV, from a film-like movemnt it is fantastic.-

No, the film degrading is what the director on the behind the scenes call it. From the looks of it, it is all tweaking in post production. Color timing. Adding a film-like shutter effect....

Also, I bet they could have made the show in miniDV, the way it looks.

Charles Papert seemed to think it was filmlooked by the actual Filmlook company. Which means they would have sent it thru some sort of black box, ratehr than software based
