Hello,
A couple of months ago I was browsing the forums and I found a part I was looking for, but now I cant find it.

I want to mount my Shotgun mic to the side of my GL2, similar to the PDX170's and DVX100a with the shotgun mics.

Here is an example:

I came upon a link in a forum in DVINFO.net to B&H that had the part it was around 40.00, but now I cant find it. Its very similar to the above picture, it puts the mic to the side of the GL2, BUT Im pretty sure it also has another "hotshoe" mount on top so you dont loose the hotshoe mount ie: for a light or whataver.

ANYONE know what I am talking about please let me know. I really want this part. I searched B&H and cant find it.

thanks

I know exactly what you're talking about but i can't find it either.

Here is another option. (http://www.lightwavesystems.com/products/minimount/default.htm)

i'd question the practicality of all of that gear perched on a camera hot shoe. I use a Mighty Wondercam Mini Rover to carry a radio mic and a mic.

There is this mount that attaches to the tripod hole of the cam freeing up the hot shoe:

Will that work?

A couple of other options. I haven't tried either, but it's something to consider.

This seems to be an inexpensive way to go:

Beyerdynamic EA86 - Camera Shoe Shock Mount . (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=details_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=108256&is=REG)

Another possibility:

Audio-Technica AT8415 Low Profile Universal Shock Mount. (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=details_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=68143&is=REG)

To mount Audio-Technica on the camera shoe, you will need:

Audio-Technica 3760057 Camera Mount Adapter. (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=details_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=68160&is=REG)

Thanks guys but its not it. :-( Its pretty much the part in that picture I posted, 99% like it. Its not a handle at all aka a MINI ROVER or a Shock mount. pretty much goes in the "hot shoe" and has an L shape to it to mut the mic to the side of the camera, pretty similar to the shotguns on the DVX100A see how the mic os to the side......http://www.geocities.jp/sumi653/AG-DVX100A.dsktop7a.gif

Here is the example pic again:

I know the part that you're after isn't a mini rover but after you stress the shoe on the camera a few times, that's what you may need. I fully explained that in my reply .
