Fellow VX-ers. Need help with a problem that has never occurred for me in 5 years of VX-2000 usage. I'm on location on a travel shoot in Chatanooga and I noticed yesterday that my counter is resetting to zero with every shot! Needless to say this will make logging my tapes a nightmare when I get home. I have read and reread my manual and can't find anything about resetting to normal tape elapsing time/camera code. Has this ever happened to you? Anyone know how to fix this one?
Much obliged,
Kim

Reset button is behind a very small hole that is covered by the LCD screen when it is closed. Look near the back edge of the concavity left by swinging out the LCD. You will find a small hole and the molded letters, Reset beside it.

Mike is referring to the Reset button under and slightly to the right of the Zebra button.

You can download the manual here (http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/sosdocs/default.asp) if you don't have one and the page that covers this is 151.

(( Looks like Mike beat me to it! ))

Shoot is finished...now have five odd hours without time code...the reset button reset everything I didn't want it to...
changed audio to 12 bit, put my tally light back on, and reactivated those silly chimes when you hit the control...I get a flashing display saying "clock set" in caps everytime I power up ...but still no continuous code...any other suggestions anyone?

Reset returns everything to factory preset.

The only way I know to get a reset to zero timecode is to review the tape and not stop on an already recorded portion of the tape. Is it possible you reviewed every shot and stopped past the end of the recorded section or that you have been using the preview button and your tapes don't have the chip?
