Hi.
I'm a senior in highschool and i'm doing a senior project on the basics of video editing. I was woundering if anyone of you could hepl me out some. Like whats Anolog - Digital - and HDV video? any links or info would be greatly appresiated.

I am no engineer, which actually might be a plus while giving this explaination...

Analog video: VHS, Hi8, BetacamSP, 3/4". The video is recorded magnetically onto a tape much like a cassette tape or LP (record).

Digitial Video: MiniDV, DVCAM, Digital Beta. The information is recorded onto the tape as data; 1's and 0's. So when that is then digitized it is a file transfer and not a recording.

HD: Very high resolution digital video.

HDV: The DV version of HD. Highly compressed so less than HD, but better than DV or BetaSP.
