Is there a plug-in or settings I can get or manipulate to allow divx pro 5.2.1 to work with vegas? I am working on a small project and I have noticed that the divix files will not load properly in vegas.

Edward Troxel November 3rd, 2004, 08:26 AM You will have to locate and install the proper codec. The Vegas should work fine with those files once the codec is installed. There are MANY threads about this - especially on Sony's main forum. What's the source of these files and why can't standard DV-AVI files be used? Dwight Flynn November 3rd, 2004, 04:20 PM Edward, the problem I am having is that I was under the impression that once I installed divx pro 5.2.1 onto my system it would play and maybe even encode, but that has not been the case. So if I need to load some other codec, or the divx codec in another form, where do I find out where the codec is for download or purchase. Thanks Edward Troxel November 3rd, 2004, 09:31 PM Here's a couple of links. There are MANY more. http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=292955 http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=265713 Dwight Flynn November 6th, 2004, 09:49 AM Thanks Edward. Rob Lohman November 7th, 2004, 07:08 AM Are these files in .AVI or some other fileformat (codec does not have much/anything to do with the fileformat)? Dwight Flynn November 8th, 2004, 05:57 AM They are in avi. I made them from my m2t files. Rob Lohman November 9th, 2004, 03:37 AM Which audio codec did you use? You can try loading it into www.virtualdub.org, does that program give you a warning on the audio part? I can load xvid files perfectly on my Vegas installation, at the moment I don't have divx installed, so can't test that. But with Virtualdub you should be able to convert it to uncompressed and then load that. Dwight Flynn November 9th, 2004, 02:06 PM Thanks Rob, I'll give it a try |
