Why is there an "x" on the file extension?

The added 'x' is a common convention so that you must download the file and play it on your computer rather than using the server's bandwidth by streaming it off. Quite understandable considering unrestrained streaming can bring a small server to its knees and run up traffic charges.

Either way, streaming or downloading uses bandwidth. Isn't streaming just a way to view content without having to wait for a potentially long download.

James: yes, and no. Both will use the same amount of bandwidth
as long as you are not viewing it multiple times. The download
time should be the same in both as well. Streaming just allows
you to start watching while the file isn't completely downloaded
yet.

The only logic I can think of is like a built in inconvenience. Downloading once to your drive, therefore saving bandwidth, instead of downloading many times and having to change the file extension each time. I guess most people would choose the first option to keep from having to change the file extension multiple times although it wouldn't take long to do anyway.

Streaming downloading or otherwise, it did look good. I watched it on an un-setup monitor at work. Some backlit stuff happened and the compression became apparent on that wide stair shot but the colors did look nice.

Was hoping for a better dynamic range.
Your handing of the camera was great but the image of the girl left me dissapointed. I have a frame where both her neck and shirt are blown out and at the same times her eyes are black sockets. Narrow range it seems.

True. Possible compression artifacts from the rendering settings. I hope at least.
