In one of last XL1S ads with all the different setups shown for this camera, I can't seem to I.D. one adapter. It's the on the lower right hand side of the 2 page ad, its a long black adapter between the body and the 16X lens. I have searched and cannot find what this one is. This ad was last placed in May inside cover of DV mag.

This should work on the XL2, too?.............er, the XL2, also?

Haven't seen the ad, but could it be this? (http://www.electrophysics.com/Browse/Brw_ProductLineCategory.asp?CategoryID=30&Area=NV)

I just researched this setup for some night vision scenes in the feature I'm shooting at the moment, but we ultimately decided to go with a post effect. I had some great conversations with the folks at Astrophysics about this setup & am intrigued to work with it in the future. And yes, it will work with the xL2.

We use one quite a bit in conjunture with our work at Fish and Game in California, a very effective unit, with good gain and clear images. overly sensitive in some situations, it is good for really dark nights and really nice images. It retains the stabilization of the 16x lens and draws power from the camera so no battery to service on the unit. Only drawback is the cost, far more than an XL-1S or even a XL-2.
