I shoot with a DVC 80, GL-1 and I also have a TRV900. I'm wondering how do this:
I was thinking of shooting my next event in Letterbox mode in the DVC 80 and 900. Going out to VHS is not a problem. What would I do if I wanted to crop to 16x9 and put that on DVD? I know it should have a slight letterbox on the top and bottom.

I am using Pinnacle Liquid Edition 5.5 to edit and make mpeg2 files.

Does the TRV-900 have a letterbox mode? I thought it was anamorphic 16:9, but I've never used one personally. Cropped NTSC 16:9 is generally 720x360 pixels. But if you're going to DVD then consider using anamorphic. If correctly created then the DVD player will detect and automatically provide letterboxing on a 4:3 TV, or display full screen on a 16:9 set, giving you the most flexibility. You could then use the DVD player to provide letterboxed output for VHS recording.

I agree, but 2 of my cameras use letterbox only, the DVC 80 and TRV900. The GL-1 uses anamorphic. I was just wondering if I shot in letterbox and then converted or cropped to 16x9 for DVD how would I do that. Or should I just leave it letterboxed 4:3?
