Thanks Dave Phil Wright December 15th, 2004, 07:58 PM Get yourself an Iwill DK8N. Lots of RAID options with 2 different SATA controllers. PCI-X slots. Firewire. Gigabit Ethernet. Dave Campbell December 16th, 2004, 09:43 AM Thanks for the input, but since I already have the Xeon chips, can you recommend a MB that supports these. Thanks Dave Kevin Shaw December 16th, 2004, 11:48 AM I'd suggest something from the following list, or maybe one of the latest Intel motherboards. http://www.canopus.com/us/products/EDIUSNX_for_HDV/pa_EDIUSNX_Compat.asp Phil Wright December 16th, 2004, 03:54 PM Well if you must go Xeon then one of the SuperMicro X6D* series motherboards would be a good choice. Or a Tyan S2676 board. Don't forget that these boards are larger than normal and will require a case for Extended ATX boards. And a power supply to match. Darren Kelly December 18th, 2004, 07:08 AM Can anyone explain the differences between the Intel 7520 chipset and the 7525 chipset. I'm in almost the same predicament DBK Kevin Shaw December 18th, 2004, 12:23 PM <<<Can anyone explain the differences between the Intel 7520 chipset and the 7525 chipset.>>> For the full technical descriptions of Intel chipsets, see this link: http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/index.htm |
