How much are you paying for a 40 minute Sony DVCAM cassette?

I'm paying 11.75 + tax per 40 minute dvcam tape, and I've looked around and can't find any better price.

I'm sure these cassettes can be found at a better price point somewhere.

www.tapestockonline.com is also good for Americans. If you live in a different state than online vendors then there may be no tax.

2- What size tape are you looking at? If it's the small size tape, you could just use mini-DV tape... which is cheapest on eBay. $2.60USD shipped, if you buy 100 JVCs (seller = getthebestdeals). Start getting a Paypal account though.

ecost.com and tapestockonline.com and taperesources.com are slightly more expensive I believe.

i buy all of my tapestock from tapeonline.com

i have found that at around $11/tape, they are about half the cost of many retail stores. are you buying memory chipless? they are cheaper than those with the chip.

Glenn, I looked at tapestockonline and I'll probably use it as a source for mini-DV as the prices are good. That said, I shoot mostly in DVCAM.

Thanks for the tips on ebay and such. :)

Emily, yes I do use the chipless DVCAM tapes. Tapeonline sells the 40 minute chipless at $11.95 (with price breaks if you purchase more than 50), which is about the same as I pay at the retail shop.

Thanks for your response. :)
