What is everyone's favourite deinterlacing methode to go from 50i to 25p and then re-time to 24p for film ?

Interpolate or blend ? (or any other if there is other)

If the footage is filmed with 1/50 shutter speed in 50i, will interpolate deinterlacing still show the correct motionblur as if it would be filmed on film with 180 degree shutter ?

Thanks !

Frank

Are you going out to film? (since you say: to 24p for film)

Frank, could you explain why you want to go from 50i to 25p then 24p.

In my understanding, when one wants to convert video to film there is no need to deinterlace to 25p.
If you shoot video and you want to transfer to film, just edit in 50i and the company that will make the transfer will deinterlace for you.

But the best is to contact the company before shooting and ask them what is the best to do.
I think they usually recommend to shoot at 1/50 by the way.

Hope it helps,

Benjamin.

Well ... I'd like to decide myself on what deinterlacing to use to get as close as possible to film motion blur. So I was wondering what system people use for the best result.

I just wonder if interpolate deinterlacing , which looks best, actually has the correct motionblur with footage shot in 50i 1/50 th .

Thanks for your input Benjamin !
