View Full Version : External firewire drive to fs4 Dave Campbell January 29th, 2005, 09:19 AM I currently have a fs1 which I have my external firewire drives I connect to it. Can I hook these same drives up to the fs4 for more storage? Thanks Dave Rob Lohman January 30th, 2005, 07:28 AM I think you can, but to be safe I would contact their (tech) support! Hart Boyd January 30th, 2005, 10:07 AM I was told no external hard drives from their tech support about a month ago. You can daisy chain fs-4Pro units to increase record time. Dave Campbell January 30th, 2005, 10:12 AM Now, that would be the pits. I assume you connect the fs4 to the computer via firewire to transfer the data. Now, assuming it talks to a computer, why would it not talk to another drive? Now, if they have made this a "design" feature, they really missed the boat with existing customers. Meaning, I have the fs1 plus a number of external firewire hard drives. I sure would like to use a few of these pieces with a new fs4. Dave Rob Lohman January 31st, 2005, 04:03 AM Just contact them, speculating is not really helping this forward... Matt McEwen January 31st, 2005, 09:59 AM Hello, It is not possible to daisy chain regular FireWire drives to FS-4. It is however possible to daisy chain two FS-4s together. Matt Rob Lohman February 3rd, 2005, 03:59 AM Thank you for your response Matt! |
