Hi everyone... have a bit of a puzzle.

How do I convert 25p/16:9/SD/720-576 video TO cineon?

The cut video can be in either M2T, MPEG 2 or ANALOG via Component (Y/Pb/Pr).

Unfortunately, it can't be in anything else as I am using the JVC PD1. I would like to avoid processing.

I understand that to create Cineon files I need to use AFTER EFFECTS, SHAKE, COMBUSTION or some such software. My problem is how to get the video into these programmes. Would appreciate any thoughts.

Graham

I guess you are the same guy who asked this question on
http://www.cineon.com/forums/viewforum.php?forum=1&101?

Anyone have an idea?

My colleague. I'm about to do a 60 sec transfer to 35mm to see what it looks like and a house has said they'll digitise direct from my component output, then give me Cineon files... which in turn will go into a film recorder... so I guess that's my solution.

In case anybody else needs to figure this out I was thinking of opening my MPEG2 in MSP7 then saving as Quicktime, then opening up in AE and saving as Cineon. Some processing though...

Hopefully component to digitized to cineon should preserve image quality.

(I know it's SD!)
