Has anyone tried mounting the new Sony Z1u on a Steadicam jr?

I would love to know if this works.

I've got an FX1 and a Steadicam JR.

It's technically above the weight limit, and I can't control it near as well as I could with my GL2. But it does work a little.

Right now I don't know if it's a matter of just relearning the JR or what, but I'm not comfortable with the FX1 on it to use it for anything legit.

I have the extra weight that's avaibable for the PD-170, I wonder if you might try something like that?

What is your experience about stablizer built into the camera? Are they good? If you walk, will you feel shaking about the camera from the video footage by just handheld and turn on builtin stablizer in the camera?

The built in stablizer is good but not good enough to get rid of the foot steps, that is unless your walking like your carrying a HOT cup of coffee, and even then you might see a bit of rocking motion. It really take a stablizer like the jr or other device to see the fluid movements that you really want.
