Did you know that you can use "Type Effects" on Jpeg,PSD, & video?
It's true and has opened up a new world of possibles for me.

For example in Livetype you can go to: File>Place
and bring in whatever file you in to Livetype ( I created some basic objects in Photoshop) I was able to give simple life to them by using the text objects i.e. "Rotate y axis"
I then brought in a simple JPEG and had it "fly in" added a drop shadow etc. and put a "T.V. off" on the way out. I had to duplicate the "effect" a couple of times to stretch it out along the tracks timeline.
and for the actual text I think I used "Sci-Fi"
I think if you lay a slug in the background you can also do this with video clips. I feel in some ways it's more exciting than Motion but you don't have as much control.
Also if you use this short cut "apple, shift,O" it will bring up a great and simple templates page.

I made a simple example that's 5 seconds. You will need QT to watch it.

Good tip Mick. I've been discovering the power of LiveType as well, since I can't use Motion on my Mac Mini.

I will definitely try your suggestion.

Check out some of my experiments (http://www.daveperry.net/pages/aaron_evans_032105.html).

Dave,
looking good! I checked out the sites and the movie site. There are some great shots on that page. Being a musician and a camera jockey I know the talent it takes to pull off the shot in a club under those low light conditions.
The Livetype came across as an accident and I couldn't be more excited about using it to the fullest. I'm glad someone can else can find the same pleasure in it.
Good Luck,
Mick
