All I know is that it is supposedly the first initials of the founder and his wife's names. But those names seem to be closely guarded secret for a reason I do not comprehend. If I was willing to pay for the information, I imagine that the owner of record information might provide a clue.

A reasonably thorough search of the WWW turned up nothing.

Where in the world did you find that information?

Don Bloom

Steve,
If you're asking me how I know this, well, lets just say that I have been known to have a head full of useless info that someday might prove useful. (my wife says I'm full of something else but we won't get into that)
The fact is, I could tell you , but then I'd have to have my "wet ops" guys pay you a visit:-) top secret security clearance and all that.

Truthfully, I have no idea where I found it years ago, I think its right but then I could be wrong.

That is an interesting answer, except that it is unlikely to be their first names.

Hi, Steve.

If we were to assume that B&H stood for the first initials of two first names, you would be correct in saying my answer is unlikely, but my answer suggests that B&H stands for the more unlikely term.

I asked one of their salesmen this question 20 years ago. Now, he could have been pulling my chain, but that's what he said.

Even if it's incorrect, it's sounds nice...

It certainly has a nice ring to it. But then the "&" would not be there. Right?

Blum and Hillbilly?

I guess one could check some incorporation records for state New York. These should be public and available over net.
