Pretty cool happenings in the JVC booth at NAB. They were showing
a non-working prototype of one of their new small HD cameras.
It's a mega pixel three CCD wonder!

*Instead of a tape transport*, this new model was a trade show floor "test balloon" to see if it would draw interest. IT DID!
This "studio camera" mode had its tape recorder guts replaced
with encoders that will offer both uncompressed SMPTE 259M
(uncompressed 4:2:2) video
or uncompressed SMPTE 292M (uncompressed 720P) HD, in addition
to analog component video.

Either SDI signal can be fed directly to a deck or more likely, straight into
an NLE's drive several hundred feet away. For that purpose,
this 'studio model' would also provide a industry standard 26 pin connection.
The JVC guys also said that it could do 4 channel audio.

Under $10K with (removable) lens.

My question for this board is: WHO can make me an EOS 35mm canon lens
adapter that will still provide the 7.2 maginification factor I need for
wildlife videography?!

Jacques,
What camcorder do you want to use it with?

This new JVC 1/3"-3chip-removable lens HD(V) camera. It's not yet
available.

In other words, a/the "solution" to XL2 would also apply to this new camera (different mounts though). When it becomes available, I will definitely look at it.

what? as in they are going to sell it? or it's just an idea?

Okay, the JVC camera is the GY-HD100e. It has
three 1/3" 1280x720 chips and can ( or would if/when made) output
uncompressed 720P HD (SMPTE 292M). The funny thing is that
JVC has made a step down adapter so that this camera will work
with Fuji 1/2" lens.

Could someone on this board made a Canon 35mm adapter that would
give me the 7.2 magnification factor inherent in the Canon EOS adapter
for the XL1 and XL1s?

I want that magnification factor for nature videography, and having
an 720P HD camera hooked up to a 3000-6000mm lens would be COOL!

This camera is supposed to ship in July. It might take longer for
this studio pro 'e' version.
