This tremendously large electronics and hobby items store is all over Europe. I visited branch about 1/2 hour North from Norinberg. You can pick many excellent motors 1.5 to 12 V from 2 to 3 Euros piece. You can open website in English, German, Czech, whatever. Their electronic catalog has 1230 pages. BTW, I did 230 km/hr on autobahn and still got constantly passed.

That's a good shop and website, thanks.
Did you do 230 km/hr with a 12V electronic motor on the autobahn ? That's too fast for a GG.

But note, than you need at least 1 rotation per frame. In ideal 50 rotation cycles (60 for NTSC) per second. Its 3000RPM (3600RPM for NTSC). You have to keep in your mind, rotate with something will bring some motor load and probably motor will slow down little bit. Also motor needs some cooling system, because after some time it gets too hot (seems to me).
I've tried to rotate 1RPS, and it looked good to, if you just want to make static dust less noticeable.
And final discovery : You CANT move with fresnel lens of any kind (Beattie, Maxxwell or whatever), because if you will move with fresnel, in fact you are moving lens and you get perfect optical destabiliser :) Most noticeable on not focused parts.
That's a good shop and website, thanks.

Daves,
Most of the motors are not for continuous. If you run constantly, you cannot run at full load or they'll overheat.

A couple of years ago we went to Austria with a group of cars and went
through Germany. We were not passed that often (we drove around 150
normally), some sections we did 200 and didn't got passed at all. We where
chasing a Porsche with 9 of these cars (http://www.visuar.com/206cc.jpg) :)

My car will not more than 230 km/hr. I got passed by about 5 cars, then I slowed down. Maybe they racing. Normally I don't get passed at 200 or more km/hr. I get passed all time in fog. You can't see anything and cars pass you like crazy.

Yeah, that's just dumb (of those people). Anyway, let's get back on-topic!
