My blood is boiling over this!!!

GRRRRRR!!!!!!

I heard this song today on the radio and nearly wrecked. I was so PISSED OFF!!! The idea that The Polish Prince would even allow this attrocity to take place was mind boggling enough, but to actually say he thinks it's "cool". Give me a break!! What is our world coming to?

Has anyone else heard this remake of Mr. Lonely?

God, even just typing that sentence makes me angry!!!

Whoa, John, pull over and take a deep breath. Don't want you on the roads in that kind of mood!

Your link leads to a Mercury News "create an account" page. Now, take it slow and explain so we can sympathize: who's the Polish Prince and exactly what did he do that sent your systole off the chart?

Bobby Vinton (the Polish Prince) wrote and performed a wonderful song by the name of "Mr. Lonely" (Billboard # 1 in 1964)

Lyrics: http://www.jacquedee63.com/mrlonely.html

Now, apparently, some attrocity of a "music" group came out with some profanity (literally) that uses the same 3 or 4 lines, then breaks into some really foul crud.

Read this at your own risk. The kids already know. I am trying to protect you, not them ...

I'm not a rap fan by any means, as I find it to be usually crude and unimaginative. However, this wasn't nearly as bad as you folks made it out to be. The story fits the lines.

Where's the profanity? I usually like profanity. Am I missing something here?

Is Bobby Vinton a member on this forum? Maybe he'd like to weigh in here.

The lyrics posted were the "clean" version.

If you don't know who Bobby Vinton is, then you missed something really great. If you don't remember the song from 1964 because you are too young, then it is understandable that you don't see the problem.

Head to Branson and see him. He still has a lot of the original spark I am told.

I must be too young. I've never even heard of Bobby Branson. Sorry.

Didn't he used to have a variety show on tv in the early 70's? I remember him, I just never listened to him... intentionaly.

I read an article that said he sold his Blue Velvet Theater in Branson. He plans to still play Atlantic City and Vegas on occassion though.

I know this isn't the first time something like this has happened in the world of rap, but why Bobby Vinton? Next thing you know they're going to be laying beats over old Sinatra songs. I just hope and pray the estate of Old Blue Eyes never lets that happen.
