Hello all!
I can start by admitting that I don't own a dv-camera... yet! :) But I do plan to buy one in the near future. I'm considering the Canon XM2 (Pal version of GL2). I currently own an analog video camera, but the quality and ease-of-use that comes with a dv makes all the difference.
The reason for my interest in the wonderful world of dv is that I want to make a movie. (Oh, don't we all! :-)) I've talked about it since around 1995 with a friend and each year we've said "This year we *really* got to do it". Well, now we've decided that our dream will come true. We've got the money, the time, the energy and - hopefully - the ideas and inspiration that will make it possible.
No, we're not aiming for Hollywood or hoping for a cinema release. This is just two guys wanting to fulfill their common dream of making a movie and showing it to all their friends and family - and to the rest of the world via Internet. We will never see our spent money again, but we do think it will be worth it.
We will probably begin shooting in June or July 2006, so we have about a year to learn all about filming, editing and so on. Yes, we have a lot of ground to cover... And we still have to maintain our dayjobs and pay our bills.
I currently work at a cinema (go figure!) and am a hobby photographer. Was born in 1975 and have lived in the beautiful southern part of Sweden called Skåne since then.
Well, see you in the forum!
