I'm looking for a non-cineform intermediate editing solution for 1080p files in PPro on the mac, to work with until neoHD gets updated/supported.
I just need 1080p smooth playback, so 10bit editing etc. doesnt really matter to me. The source files I have are Canon 7D h.264 movs and so the playback even on my mac pro gets jerky after a few seconds.
I plan to use the intermediate files just during the edit, and then when I am ready to export either relink the project files to the original source movs and export from them, or if cineform has shown the mac some love, then link to cineform intermediate files.
What are my options? I'm thinking I could edit using the DVCPro HD settings, but the resolution is different. I could use Apple's AIC, but again I dont think they go up to 1080p.
