Oh no! B&H is closed for holiday until Oct. 12. :0

What to do? I need to buy a bunch of cable and adapters pronto. Can someone recommend me another vendor with similar inventory, reliability and service? Also, I'm replacing most of my cables. Any recommendations on brands other the obvious — Canare? I'm thinking Belden. Also, are foil wrapped insulated cables better than the usual braided copper?

For audio at least Canare and Mogami, fitted with Neutrik connectors, are excellent choices.

Foil is appropriate for fixed installations, e.g. wiring behind your rack that is not being moved, etc. but if you're using it in any other capacity that involves it being moved, coiled, plugged in/out, it is a poor choice, as the foil will tend to crack.

You should know about Markertek Markertek - Audio and Video Equipment - Professional Broadcast Studio Equipment (http://www.markertek.com) for parts, as well as pre- assembled cables

Markertek rocks, I have been buying cables from them for 20 years. Their custom cable work is very good as well.
