Hey guys,

I have decided to move to MAC for HD video editing and bought the Macbook pro. I just ordered FCP and i was just wondering what are some of plugins i can use for color corrections, video transition and ect..

thank you

FCP comes with its own transitions and color correction plugins, but Red Giant software makes Magic Bullet which I hear is a great color correction suite, although I have never used it. There are lots of free plugins, too. Just look on Google. CrumplePop is another company, although they have some more esoteric filters. They also offer two free plugins, one for lower thirds, and one for making frames into polaroid pictures. Check them out.

3 way CC filter is built in and it is really good and easy to use.

Color is the best CC program I have ever seen for less than 6 figures, and it comes with FCP Suite.

There are more transitions than I will ever use in FCP but if you need more I would recommend Boris Red or the whole Boris collection.

BTW check out the new M100 Suite. Free 14 day trial, it is hands down the fastest easiest to use NLE on the planet, IMHU. And it includes Boris Red.

Welcome to the Mac side of things, enjoy.

One of the best and most affordable plug-in packages for FCP, AE and Motion is FxFactory Pro from Noise Industries. In fact I can't think of any plug-in suite that has a greater selection of filters, effects and generators than FxFPro and they're adding new stuff all the time.

The latest version is Snow Leopard compatible with new free filters added.

I second Robert's recommendation. Good plug ins and a good price. If you have money
to spend, Gen Arts Sapphire plugs are good (but they cost as much as FCS I think).
And there are a TON of other ones......one of the things I like about FCP is that you
can literally find a plug in to do about anything......there are a LOT of people using
FCP and a LOT of third party companies making plug ins for it.

I love the combination of Magic Bullet Colorista and Looks.

And of course you get Apple Color.
