I am having problems with a full quality .AIF file on my sequence when it is set up for HDV - the audio degrades, cracks, and sounds just awful.
If I change my sequence to another format (i.e. DV/NTSC), the problem with the audio goes away.
Has anyone else encountered this in FCP5 or is this just me?
Thanks,
Bryan

I believe that you're not alone.

Doeas anyone know a solution to this?

What is strange is that it appears when I render it out to an H264 format output, the audio sounds better. I am not 100% sure but I will do more tests on it. Even if it works, this makes editing the sound extremely however. I think I may have to call Apple Support.

It appears that this problem is sporadic since I get it some times and not others. Strange......

I never run into the same problem, yet.

I figured out why this is sporadic for me. If I have audio and no video track on an HDV sequence, the audio sounds terrible. If I add a slug to it, it fixes the problem. I put lots of blank slugs as filler in place of no video in my sequences now.
