Hiya,
i found the footages i get with my hfs11 missing a lot of depth. they are very flat
How can i get more depht of field with it on short distances ?
without going into an adapter like jag35

thanks
Olivier

Do you mean more depth of field or less?
For less, you should shoot with the widest aperture available, and don't shoot at the widest end of the zoom.
However, even with the 1/2.6-inch chip in this camera, you'll struggle to get a really narrow DoF that you'd get with a 35mm adapter.
It's just a fact of life - and optics...

i am trying to get more depht, but without having a glowy background that some find pretty.
The closest of 35 i get, the happier i am :)

i didn't find any way to have the aperture i want and the exposure i want in the same time.
i only get, one of those manualy and the other get automatic.
Can i have more controls ?

i just start to get use to my hfs11

thanks

on short distances you can't;
to get shallow DOF without DOF adapter go to Av mode, stay wide open and you have to be zoomed in, roughly half way;
OR, if DOF is so important to you go DSLR;; I've tried many different DOF adapters and didn't really like any of them, they all kinda home made devices.

I made a video when I tested the canon hf s10 dof.
