Hi Guys,

This is my first post and let me just say I am really loving reading through these forums.

I bought an education version of the Apples Production Suite at the end of last year, recently I was tidying up some stuff and noticed that all the serial numbers say something like "Final Cut Pro HD Retail" etc....

Now does this mean that someone at the Apple distribution centre mistakenly send me the full retail version, which I will be able to upgrade? Because according to the apple site you can't upgrade edu versions right? Does Apple indicate anywhere that it is an edu version?? Even the barcode on the box says retail. Appreciate your help guys.

It sounds like you have the non-educational versions. The educational versions are clearly stamped with stickers indicating that it is an educational product on the box and the serial number sticker. Plus, last time I checked it displays "Educational" in the splash screen when you start up one of the programs. You got lucky!
