Hi, I live in Taipei.
This is the most famous place to get camera equipment in Taipei: Bo'ai and Hankou Roads (http://maps.google.com.tw/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=%E5%85%AC%E5%9C%92%E8%B7%AF&daddr=%E9%96%8B%E5%B0%81%E8%A1%97%E4%B8%80%E6%AE%B5&geocode=FcwsfgEdqDU-Bw%3BFQQsfgEdmB0-Bw&hl=en&mra=cc&dirflg=w&sll=25.046045,121.512871&sspn=0.002377,0.004823&brcurrent=3,0x3442a99bd1adbcc7:0xc5ab69bb7491162a,0,0x3442ac6c9e3bc587:0xfbdf07e4b530c0a4&ie=UTF8&ll=25.046487,121.513258&spn=0.002377,0.004823&z=18). Go to the destination (B).
But I wouldn't expect cheaper prices than in the US. Maybe on local accessories, yes.

Benjamin.

Erick,

You might as well take a short flight down to Singapore. This is the real center for serious equipment shops although it wasn't clear what kind of eqipment you're looking for. But if it is video gear, then Singapore prices beat New York prices. I've done the comparison although this was done before the downturn of the US Dollar these days.

I can recommend three video production equipment retailers in Singapore. These are not the ones you find in the many electronics malls. You should avoid them.
