Just got brand new out of the box GY HM 100, We put in two 16Gig Panasonic class 10 cards. But we we hit record we are getting a message saying insufficient space. Are we missing something really silly or do we have an issue? Thanks

Have you tried formatting the disc in the camera? As a rule I always have the camera format each new disc. Also, there was a firmware update that had to do with class 10 discs that your camera may not have.

I have formated the disk, how do I do firmware update?

Try a class 6 card, if it works, update the firmware (this will enable you to use class 10 cards). Bare in mind, class 6 cards are more than adequate, and a lot cheaper than class 10. Firmware is available here. Including instructions. JVC Professional Customer Support - Product Upgrades (http://pro.jvc.com/prof/support/productupdate.jsp)
Hope this helps.

Just got a new (ie. used) camera in on Tuesday. Attempted to use it last night and ran into this problem (no space on cards despite being freshly formatted). Wish I'd tried my Class 6 cards! I'll try again tonight and see if it fixes the problem.

I just wonder what is the difference between 10 and 6. I am quit happy with my class 6

Updated the firmware and it's working fine with Class 10 cards now.
