I know it would of been prob way better to use green screen but they didn't so I'm trying to figure out if you can turn the pple in your footage and make em look like ghosts. So if someone have an idea of how to do this in final cut or after effects i'd appreciate it. I know we can mess with the opacity and that will sort of help but im looking to see if there anything we can do.

Never done this before, but fiddling around with blur and opacity might get you some way.

Do an HSL key to grab the skin of the people and apply crazy blurs and highlight effects to the selection. Should work :/

Never attempted something that's VFX related but...

Along with what James suggested try using the "Bloom" filter in FCP and make the ghost color off-white with a blue-ish hue. Light-blue blooming effects along with motion-blurs are always associated with ghosts and spirits.

It won't look good unless you put good effort in it, sorry. You will have to do it in After Effects, Combustion or another VFX software, rotoscoping those faces (or you can do a fixed mask and track it to the heads' movement) and applying some glows, blurs and tints, or even some particle effects.
