Hi folks, I will be building an edius system very soon, and I'm looking for advice on graphics cards. Do any of the cards out there have issues with edius? I want a dual head display and don't want to get a card that causes problems. What are you folks using?
I'm coming from the OLD days, using speed razor on a WinXP system. (yes, it still works great, but obviously wont handle HD)

Might be better to post this Q on the GV Edius forum. There are several system builders there who, to my knowledge, don't post here. (Not to slight any system builders here...)

It depends on what you're building, software only system or will you be adding some GV hardware as well? For software only, it doesn't really matter, as long as the card works fine with Windows. The GV website is undergoing changes, they had a list of recommended GPUs but it's nowhere to find now. The only requirement listed for software only (Edius v5):
A graphics card supported by Direct3D 9.0c or later, and PixelShader Model 3.0 or later is required
For SD editing: 128 MB or larger required, 256 MB or larger recommended
For HD editing: 256 MB or larger required, 512 MB or larger recommended
Edius 5 - software only - does not take advantage of GPU hardware acceleration.

Edius 5 does have loads of GPU-powered transitions though.
