i did a search here first, it came up with nothing, so i assume it isnt yet discussed?

Saw this on , of all places home shopping club :-) i cant believe i didnt know about this fine leetel TOY of a RT DVD box.
VRD-MC6 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=VRD-MC6&N=0)
(B&H link, no info)
all for a mere $200

says it will work from a firewire?
anybody have one? i would only use it for a SD 16x9 quick customer thing, or show device.
claims it can make a Psudo HD DVD disk.

there is a lot i would want to know about this.
S-in/out? composite?
could it actually play back its psudo HD inside itself, compatability with real Blu-ray.
how to keep it from being to highly compressed.
by default it wont be a good 2pass VBR, but i wonder.
how long it would take to Finalize <--- that being very important if it is to be used immediatly after a shoot.
stuff like that.

woa consumers have all the fun dont they, a "pro" verions of something like this would cost me my left gonad :-)
looks like the only value for me it would have is recording a SD firewire, and playing it back on a standard dvd. :-( but that might still be a good way to get an unedited "customer copy" out to them.
