Anyone got any shooting experience using Fibrescope / Endoscopes? - Particularly using those that can mount onto 1/3rds video ? I would be interested in hearing about it !?

Extech, i.e. Extech Instruments - a FLIR Company (http://www.extech.com) make very neat little endoscopic systems such as the BR200 or the BR 200-2. These are complete set-ups with an extendable 1 meter cable and memory card recorder.

We did something with that sort of equipment on one of the Wildeye courses with Piers Morgan. I can't remember the details of what we used, but it plugged into the camera to record on tape - SD quality if I remember rightly - I haven't looked at that video for a while. It took a bit of getting used to - how to move the business end of the endoscope to get smooth footage.

Something like this Alana Ecology Visual Optics VS36-10ww Video Borescope (http://www.alanaecology.com/acatalog/Visual_Optics_VS36-10ww_Video_Endoscope.html) (which has a video out) should attach to the camera in the same manner, but I don't know what the quality is.

whatever you do , endoscope with optical fiber are giving bad picture, compared to your standard (1/3" sensor full HD). For SD , it still workable.
Some endocope are very high resolution (for medical use mainly) but cost the hell.
advantage is the real tiny head possible.

If you go with small camera attached to a flexible tube, they are as goog as the camera is, so usually about 400-500 line resolution. The size limit for the head is diameter of camera+lighting

The real quality is obtained with endoscope built like periscope, tubes and mirrors. But they are huge and not flexible.
depends you application, anyway light is a factor and quality of lens too.
