Ive searched and couldnt find much on matching or kinda common plates.

I accidentally bought the 357 from Bogen/Manfrotto thinking it was the same as my 501hdv. (the 577 was out of stock last week).
Anyways, im looking for matching plate and i noticed the Giottos | M621 Quick Release Assembly | MH621 | B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/318567-REG/Giottos_MH621_M621_Quick_Release_Assembly.html) which looks like the 577, can someone confirm if its the same (its cheaper than the 577).

Are there any other tripods and quick release system that uses the same plate as the 501/577? Would like to have the same plate as i go from my glidecam to tripod.

The plate that came with the Schatler FSB-8 works in my old 501 head, the Schatler would be closer to the "long" bogen plate. I also can use it in the 577 holder.

Is the 501 hdv the same as the 503hdv ? If the answerr is yes then you want the manfrotto mn577.
