I came back from CES where Stedicam was exhibiting cute little new stabilizer prototype developed for iPhone and other very small camcorders. The mounts are meant for a particular device and so the weights are already properly balanced if the proper mount/device combination is used. There are just couple of adjustment knobs. It works amazingly well, with just a slight friction at the gimbal, that looked very much like the Merlin one (maybe just for the prototype). I put some 2D/3D videos on YouTube and on Vimeo. Here are the URLs: Steadicam SMOOTHEE, Marilyn and Elvis @ CES 2010 - Red & Blue 3D on Vimeo , Steadicam SMOOTHEE, Marilyn and Elvis @ CES 2010 - Amber & Blue Anaglyph 3D on Vimeo , YouTube - Steadicam SMOOTHEE, Marilyn and Elvis @ CES 2010 - Stereoscopic 3D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEkrD1zKOho) , YouTube - Steadicam SMOOTHEE, Marilyn and Elvis @ CES 2010 - Amber & Blue Anaglyph 3D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYTxllDtqUg) and finallyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41SxRT1lds0 . I did it many ways to cover various viewing methods and resolution. Plus most of you can have fun watching how I create drunken horizon.
