Hey everybody,

For my next edit I would like to use swish pans and motion tracking. Do any of you guys ever succeed in using this in Final Cut Pro instead of After Effects? Do you know of any plug-ins I'm able to use in FCP?

Next to that, I want to show a clip with motion tracking to a client of mine, but I am searching and can't find a good example. I need a clip whit moving objects (people, cars, etc.) with text above these moving objects that track the motion of that object. Anybody knows a good example for this?

Cheers,
Niels

i've got a freebie swish pan effect for fcp you can grab from my site : http://web.me.com/andymees

for an example of mtion tracking you can look at this motion tutorial which shows you all you need to know: Motion Smarts (http://www.motionsmarts.com/tutorials/matchmove1/mm1.html)

Thanks for that Andy! When I want to download it I get an error: Wrong Type. I got FCP 6.0.6. is that the problem?

Hi Niels

No, what you've downloaded is the plugin file itself, its not a self installing or launch to install thing, rather you have to install it yourself by putting it into FCP's plugin folder and then relaunching FCP (plugins are loaded during app launch) ... my preferred plugin directory for FCP is at /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins, there is another in your User's Library folder at ~/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Plugins

Hope that helps
Andy
