View Full Version : Cineform trial - won't work

I downloaded and installed the Windows demo of the latest version of Cineform Neo Scene from the Neoscene website. Unfortunately every time I try to start it I get a windows error:

"HDlink.exe has stopped working"

I'm using Vista 32 bit, with 4gb ram, core 2 duo and decent enough graphics card. But like I say I cant even open the program to try and convert anything.

Any ideas what this could be? Do I need anything else installed or would something be conflicting with it? (AC3 is installed ok).

I have tried running as administrator and turning off antivirus etc. I have installed and reinstalled a few times but now when I install it says the trial has ended!

Anything I can do or try - I dont want to spend the money on this product without trialling it first to see how it edits and looks exported.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Install Neo HD, it will have it own trial period. It also fails, your PC is is missing some core DLL or feature, but I can't think of what.

Program installed ok but still getting HDLink.exe error - no idea what this could be :( Anyway to completely uninstall the program and registry values?

The uninstall is effective. One more test:

Try and open Start->programs->CineForm->NeoHD->Activate

If that crashes too, your PC Is not compatible with the licensing software. We have seen that on maybe 1 in 10,000 systems, and as it is not under our control (we license it from a third party) we don't have a solution (other than a OS reinstall.) If Activate works fine, then the problem is likely fixable, so you should contact support.

I recentlly dl'd the neoscene and HD trials for mac. I have a 2.4 GHz intel c2d macbook pro, osx 10.6.2, and the installer for the programs say that they "cant be installed on this computer, it requires a intel mac".

well... it is an intel mac... clearly... so what's the issue? anyone have any solutions?
