I'm looking for a good Clamp (is that the name?) with a strong grip,- for my 7D.
Any suggestions or links out there ?

It depends what you want to clamp it to, but I use manfrotto super clamps. You can get a spigot that attaches to the camera's base plate thread.

Everything from the tail on a snowboard to trees and car mirrors.. Think a pinch would be best for my purpose/use. Got any that looks like my picture ?

I have a spring clamp which is similar to your pic, also made by manfrotto, you might want to look at that and a gaffer clamp.

I'm going through the process of shooting a lot of cars and having to mount the camera all over them for different angles.
I started out simply, and inexpensively, but in order to get better shots it required more hardware for stability and security.
You can certainly mount your 7D to the front of a ($50) skateboard using a ($15) clip like the one in your picture, but it sure is a drag watching $2k worth of camera sliding along the cement.
You might want to check these guys out: Camera Mounts - Sticky Pod, Grippers, Suction Cups, Light & Mid Weight Camera Mounts (http://www.filmtools.com/succupmoun.html) or somebody like them.
