Having just got my TM300 i was wondering if anyone could help suggest some accessories for it, specifically:

- wide angle lens (make/model?)
- battery (official?)
- mic

Many Thanks

Steven,

You might have more luck with your question over on the HDMom site (DVInfo sister site). This forum is for the Panasonic Prosumer AG-HMC40, AG-HMC-70 and AG-HMC150 cameras. And while the AG-HMC40 shares optics and sensor with the TM300 most of the other accessories will be different.

Here's the HDMom link: Panasonic HDC Series - HD Mom (http://www.hdmom.com/forum/panasonic-hdc-series/)

For wide angle adapters you might gain some insight from HMC40 users (btw - I have an HMC40). There seem to be several leading choices: the Panasonic wide angle adapter (0.7x), a Raynox adapter (0.66x) and a Century Optics (0.5x). The Panasonic adapter seems to be pretty good it allows zoom thru the entire range, but is not as wide as the other adapters and is the most expensive. The Raynox has pretty good reviews, but I have not been able to find anyone that actually owns one (the Raynox is the least expensive). The Century is intriguing because it is the widest of the group, but does not allow full zoom (priced between the Raynox and Panasonic).

Sorry about that!

Thanks for the link and advice.

Unfortunately, the HD Mom site is pretty dead (look at the date on the last post there).

For on-camera mics, look at Rode's Videomics - great bang-for-the-buck.

Amen to the Rode mike. But remember to carry a spare 9v battery.
